I am putting a new track in my 69 GTX.  How do you get to the lower sprocket when the chaincase is welded shut?

Also can you purchase a new front sprocket for these sleds?

Without having the parts breakdown in front of me for help, I seem to remember it being like an old SkiDoo, you put the sprocket in the chain and fish it down to alignment with the drive axle and use a long screwdriver or slim prybar to hold pressure on the gear while rolling it to align the splines. Wire up the chain so you don't drop it.

If you can find new correct sprockets you are a lucky man. Otherwise, convert to standard Rupp parts of the period.

The track I am pulling out is 57 pitch and in poor shape.  Will a 58 pitch track work?

Should I convert the drivers, idlers and track to Ski Doo?

Keep us informed. I have 2 69 GTEs that need new tracks. I am tempted to use a 70 chain case I have instead.

I have a pair of 300s but I have the tunnel for a GTE370 if I get another 370 rebuilt.
