Hi All, I have a 69 ski whiz that had a chrome gas cap turn up MIS (missing in snow) this past weekend. Anyone have one for sale or know how to get one? Rode apx. 45 miles, looking for it would be like a needle in a snowbank. The old girl ran great and the sound of it brought lots of smiles to all that came too close. This was after two years of down time for me and the sled. I would like a chrome one but a plastic orig. would do. Thank You Upfront!   Ron

I would try an ad in the classifieds.

Lots of traffic goes through there every day.

I'll check and see if I have one, and I'm pretty sure the chrome ones on the '69's were the originals. Might take me 'til next week to look for it, as I won't be around home this weekend. I'll let you know early next week if I have one.

You can still get them at NAPA but they can't look them up by application. Just measure the neck and head on down to the store. They can get out the illustrations and find it for you. Vented style. I think it is the same as the old pick-up trucks that had the tank in the rear of the cab.

Hi again, I am still looking for a cap but may have found one on E-bay. Before I buy I need the diameter and thickness of the old one. Can someone post a pic of one upside down with a ruler over it so I can see the overall size readings and also the thickness? Thank You  Ron

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner tur660, but I do not have a cap for the '69. I have the rotted tank but no cap to be found.

now that the snow is gone if you can remember the places you rode the sled i bet it would show up now ... course you would have to use a wheeler to do it and some palces dont allow them on sled trails .... ive had to hunt for the pressure reliefe valve off my sno-runner and that wasnt fun  like looking for half a pen in the snow on a trail but luckily i hadnt gone far but still took like an hour of walking the area we was riding in...
