we got our first snow a few days ago so i decided to try out the whip i got, started first pull but i had to keep putting the choke on while riding it to keep it running. Any ideas whats wrong?

Probably a plugged curcuit in the carb, but it could also be any problem that would cause a lean condition. By pulling the enrichening lever, you are allowing more fuel in and when that happens, the fuel/air ratio changes and the motor runs better. Look for air leaks including broken intake insulator blocks, carb mounting flange seal failure and crank seals,
